My name is Mallorie and I met my first hedgehog as a child in the '90s when my mother had a pet hedgehog named Walter. Little was known about hedgehog care back then so Walter lived a simple and somewhat short life.
As a teenager I rediscovered my love of hedgehogs. I was quick to rush into breeding before doing my research and I quickly found that breeding was not as simple as I had assumed. I learned about pedigrees and genetic disease from reputable breeders and decided to stop breeding hedgehogs until I had the means to do it correctly. It was nearly 15 years before I was finally in a position where I could provide my hedgehogs with the love and care they deserve, while breeding to produce healthy pets.
I have four years of experience working as an assistant to a veterinarian in Lakewood, Colorado who treated large and small animals but I ultimately decided that I did not have the heart to be a veterinarian so I went into accounting. I now live in Denver, Colorado with my husband, our two children, two dogs, and many hedgehogs.
